You must still remember the grand ceremony in sporting world last year, Beijing Olympics Games. At the same time in the fashion world, the famous Italian fashion house, Gucci launched the collection of 8-8-2008 Limited Edition designed by the creative director Frida Giannini to contribute to the momentous occasion. "Not only does red evoke happiness and celebration, two emotions that couldn't be more appropriate to describe the excitement brought by the international sport games, but it also happens to be a very fashionable color for 2008," Giannini said in a media release. "I also designed just eight products for this collection, which mirror the lucky number eight in Chinese culture."

This collection features eight accessories, each cast in bold red and bearing its own exclusive athletic twist. Gucci watch, fashioned on a steel frame, boasts a smooth black face and is also available in a clock hand version. The special Gucci Olympic collection logo, with interlocking G motif in place of the zeros in 2-0-0-8, is etched on the back. While the bicycle features bold red double GG leather details and the Mahjong set covered in red La Pelle Guccissima leather. To pay homage to China, the country's iconic panda animal offered as a soft leather teddy bear. This collection also includes the men's and women's sporting shoes, a sterling silver, enamel necklace, two pieces of luggage in La Pelle Guccissima, a sturdy leather duffle and a soft leather messenger bag. Except the watch is sold worldwide, the other items are only in Gucci boutiques in China, Hong Kong, and Macau.
